Sustainable Commercial Roofs
Reduce, Recycle, Reimagine
Sustainability has been a part of the Duro-Last culture for more than 20 years. Our founder, John R Burt, came up with the idea of reimagining old PVC roofs and manufacturing excess into resilient flooring, walkway pads and concrete expansion joints. To date, we have recycled more than 100 million pounds of PVC material through our sustainable manufacturing operations and Recycle Your Roof program. We have continued our leadership in sustainability as the first manufacturer to publish a product-specific Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for single-ply PVC roofing membranes.
Excellence in Recycling Recognition
Duro-Last was recognized with the 2017 Excellence in Recycling Award by the Michigan Recycling Coalition for our commitment to recycling and sustainable materials management. The award is given every year to one Michigan organization showing leadership and excellence in recycling and waste diversion.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
Duro-Last was proud to publish the first product-specific PVC EPD in the North American roofing industry. Certified by the global public health organization NSF International, the Duro-Last EPD reports environmental impact data which assists building owners, contractors, architects and designers in making more informed purchasing decisions.
